Spring flowers are some of the most beautiful forms of botanical life.
In the workshop, she "poses" flowers from her garden and paints directly from life with an emphasis on gesture, color and structure. The technique she uses is "Alla Prima" with an open palette.
She thinks of these paintings as studies rather than layered, complex images. They are actually fun...and that is part of the goal!
