Rush Hollow Studio 2026 Rose Painting Workshop

Take a deep dive into the beautiful but challenging subject of Garden Roses. The varieties I grow are not commercially available as subjects for painting, and they are truly exquisite.

This class will focus on the skills needed to simplify and grasp the essential structure of these complex forms. If you have been intrigued but intimidated by this subject, this workshop is for you!

Open to all painters. The class is capped at eight people, and I tailor my teaching to meet the needs of each student regardless of experience.

Rush Hollow Studio 2026 Color Boot Camp

Color need not be a confusing and intimidating subject. There is creative mystery in the use of color, but the basic language can be learned and applied to any kind of painting. In this week-long immersion at Rush Hollow, you will learn everything I know about color. The flowers from my early autumn garden will provide us with extra inspiration! Monday-Friday, October 5-9, 9:30 am to 5 pm

Sources of inspiration at Rush Hollow Studio

Rush Hollow Studio is tucked into the rolling countryside of southwestern Vermont near the New York State border. This whole area provides rich inspiration for painting, drawing, and other creative pursuits. A creek with several small waterfalls, farm fields, woods, gardens, and wildlife habitat are all within walking distance of the barn.

Traveling with a cyclist?

The riding around Rush Hollow Studio is superb.

If you are here with someone who likes to ride bikes, Parker can serve up daily rides, short or long, flat or hilly, slow or as fast as he can go. Whether it's riding on the local paved roads, gravel roads, or MTB trails, cycling around southwestern Vermont and upstate New York is fantastic.
